Classes and Camps

Preschool Classes at the Zoo

Join us for fun animal adventures at the zoo! Classes involve stories, crafts, and an animal encounter and admission to the zoo is included.  Classes start in Classroom B of the education center and last about 40 minutes. Pre-registration is required as class is limited to 20 students. Member cost $8 a class, non-member cost $9 a class.

Camps for Preschool Ages 3 &4  Kids need to be potty trained and able to stay without an adult. Times 9am-noon. $80 members/$90 non-members per camp session.

June 18-22 or July 23-27:  Alpha Zoo – Learn about animals from A-Z!

July 9-13 or August 6-10: Backyard Friends – Learn about the animals in Texas


Camps for Ages 5 through 7th grades: All 5 year old-7th grade camps are daily from 9-3.Cost: $145 members and $160 non-members for each full week of camp.

Ages 5-5th grades

     August 13-17:  Party Animal – Play games while learning about animals!

    August 20-24: Creature Camp – Learn about the creatures that call the zoo home!

Ages 5 and Entering Kindergarten:

   June 11-15 or July 23-27: Dinosaurs! – Learn about dinos and the animals that are still around!

   June 25-29: Home Sweet Home -Learn about the animals that call Texas home

   July 9-13: Feather Frenzy- Learn about our feathered friends!

Entering 1st:

   June 18-22 or August 6-10: Bird Brains-Learn all about birds!

   July 2-6: Prehistoric Critters – Learn about the prehistoric critters, some are still alive today!

   July 23-27: Terrific Texas – Learn about the animals that call Texas home         

Entering 2nd or 3rd Grade:

   June 11-15 or July 30-August 3: Jungle Adventures -Learn about the jungle animals

   July 2-6: Wild about Texas – Learn about the animals and habitats of Texas

   July 16-20: Radical Raptors -Learn all about the birds of prey

Entering 4th or 5th Grade:

   June 25-29 or August 6-10:  Rainforest Ramble- Learn about the rainforest and its creatures

   July 9-13: Texas! – Learn about the animals and habitats of Texas

   July 16-20: Wild Designs – Learn how to create animal enrichment for the zoo animals!

Entering 6th or 7th Grade:

   June 18-22: Enrichment Engineers – Learn how to create animal enrichment for the zoo animals!

   July 9-13: Texas! – Learn about the animals and habitats of Texas

    July 30-August 3: Junior Zoo Keeper -Learn how we take care of the animals!

Extended Camp is available until 5:15 Monday-Thursday and until 4:30 on Friday for an additional $10 per day. This is an extension of the camp experience and will include a snack. It will only be held if 5 kids are registered so Pre-registration is required.

Cancellation Policy: If unable to attend a scheduled camp, please notify us within two weeks of the camp start for a refund, less a $10 cancellation processing fee.  No refunds will be given for unattended days of camp
