Bird Rehabilitation

Protect native birds in the Big Country! As the only accredited bird rehabilitation center in the Big Country, Abilene Zoo intakes over 500 birds each year and releases 50% of treatable birds, finding forever homes at accredited institutions for those that are non- releasable.

Impact the thousands of students that visit Abilene Zoo each year on a fieldtrip, at summer camp, or during an off-site animal encounter. Students throughout the Big Country get up-close with animals, creating inspiration today and conservation tomorrow.
