Support the Zoo
Support our mission! The Abilene Zoo is a place of learning and adventure, where families make memories, share the joy of discovery and become inspired to preserve wildlife.
The Abilene Zoo is a community partnership between the City of Abilene and the Abilene Zoological Society, a 501(c)(3) organization. The society is reliant and grateful for all community donations, which are 100 percent tax deductible.
All donations can be contributed for a purpose close to your heart:
Grover Nelson Foundation: 100 percent of contributions made to the Grover Nelson Foundation are used for capital improvements at the Abilene Zoo. The foundation generously supported the construction of Elm Creek Back Yard, the Caribbean Cove Amphibian Center and the exciting new Giraffe Safari multi-species exhibit. Next project? A Madagascar area with Lemurs and Fossa and other exotic creatures.
The Ruth Addington Endowment for Butterfly Research, Conservation and Education: Contributions to this fund, named in honor of a wonderful zoo supporter, allow us to expand and improve our butterfly garden.
