Become a volunteer with your Abilene Zoo! The animals will love you for it!
Our dedicated and enthusiastic Adult Volunteers contribute their time and talent to assist zoo guests and provide staff support. Education Volunteers are exposed to amazing learning opportunities while helping the Zoo with fun education and conservation activities! Administrative, animal care and facility Volunteers offer invaluable support to the Abilene Zoo while gaining behind the scenes knowledge of zoo operations.

|Education||Work as a Guest Ambassador, in Education Animal Care, Animal Programs, or in Research and Materials|
|Administrative||Work Special Events, assist with Membership programs and the Marketing and Development department|
|Animal Care||Assist the animal staff in caring for animals and providing behavioral enrichment|
|Facilities||Assist the Horticulture and Maintenance staff with a variety of projects.|
PLEASE NOTE: Due to strict animal husbandry guidelines and safety issues, there are extremely limited opportunities to interact with any of the animals. Remember, this is for their safety and well-being as well as yours. Anyone who will be working with education animals or animals on exhibit will be required to take a TB test.

There is a $20 volunteer fee which covers a background check, training materials, t-shirt and name badge.
