Where can I drop-off my branches?
When you enter Abilene Zoo parking lot, follow the signs on the left fence until you reach to Gate C at Abilene Zoo.
Do you pick-up branches?
Unfortunately, no. We only receive drop-off branches directly in Abilene Zoo, Gate C.
How can I identify my tree?
We recommend the following:

– Arbor Day Tree ID: https://www.arborday.org/trees/index-identification.cfm
– Using Google Lens to identify plants
If you still are not able to ID your tree, please send a high resolution photo to abilene.zoo@abilenetx.gov.
Do you accept dried tree branches?
We only accept fresh branches with green leaves.
What is the optimal size of branches?
Fresh cut branches that are five to eight feet in length, with a good amount of green leaves are preferred.
Is it OK if I use organic or chemical pesticides?
Pesticides are harmful to the animals. We don’t accept branches that have been treated with a pesticide.
