Abilene Zoo visitors are now able to book the first-of-its-kind sloth tour! This unique opportunity allows visitors to get up close and personal with one of nature’s most charismatic and slow-moving creatures.
Sloths have captured the hearts of animal lovers worldwide with their gentle demeanor and unhurried lifestyle. Now visitors at Abilene Zoo can delve deeper into the world of sloths through this exclusive tour where they will learn fascinating facts about sloths, the struggles their natural habitat faces, and their critical role in conservation efforts.
For their meeting with a sloth, visitors will join one of Abilene Zoo’s keepers for a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to provide a sloth with world-class care. This educational and fun encounter will provide guests of all ages with an up-close look at what makes a sloth a sloth. Incredibly photogenic, a two-toed sloth, truly is a superstar worth meeting.
“We are excited to introduce our visitors to this one-of-a-kind experience,” said Robert Trejo, Abilene Zoo Curator. “Sadie the two-toed sloth is a beloved member of our zoo family and an amazing ambassador for her species. Our hope is this encounter will not only educate but also inspire a deeper appreciation for the conservation of sloths and their ecosystems.”
